The machine is composed of a Polishing unit, with a chrome plated Polishing roller with electric heating and by a Shearing unit composed of a shearing roller with first quality shearing blades and a strong structure to ensure a powerful cutting of the fibers.

POLISHING UNIT
The Polishing unit is composed by : Polishing roller, made in steel with hard chrome plate and 4 helical grooves. The Polishing roller is driven by AC motor with inverter. The heating of the Polishing roller is carried out by 18 electric resistors with independent power supply for the centre and for the sides, in order to control the temperature of the cylinder and have a constant temperature on all the width.
The fabric is brought in contact with the Polishing roller, by a driven felt, with adjustment of the contact driven by motor and controlled by Touch Screen, for perfect reproducibility.
The approaching felt is equipped with automatic seams jump device, which moves away the felt at the passage of the seams and with an automatic fabric tensioning system, that keeps fabric tension constant, also when felt is moving away.

SHEARING UNIT
The shearing unit is well tested with all the DANTI PAOLO shearing machines and features the following advantages:
• Higher power of shearing; even the toughest fibers can be sheared without problems.
• Higher production; It is possible to process at higher speed, without losing quality.
• Longer life of the blades sharpness; more meters of fabric between one sharpening and the other.
• Sharp angle of cutting for efficient cutting and lowest weight loss.
The shearing height is set by the Touch Screen and the shearing roller is driven by Inverter. The cutting stand is shifting away automatically at the passage of the seams and moves in such a way that the fabric keeps a constant tension also during shifting. The shape of the cutting stand is made in such a way that the fabric is perfectly opened at the shearing point and the fiber is well exposed to the shearing, in order to obtain highest efficiency.

FABRIC MOTION
The motion of the fabric is driven by 2 motors with Inverter, for a perfect control of fabric tension and is controlled by Touch Screen. The fabric tension roller is suitable also to overfeed the fabric in order to avoid any tension to the fabric and avoid any stretching.

The Combined Polishing and Shearing machine is controlled by PLC and is equipped with Touch Screen for the control of all the machine’s functions. The Touch Screen is equipped with an advanced troubleshooting system with clear trouble shooting instructions and images. Moreover the machine is supplied with modem, for remote troubleshooting.

The following accessories are available according to the type of fabric to be processed :
• Steaming unit at inlet.
• Metal Detector.
• Fabric Centering device.
• Decurling rollers.
• Antistatic bar.

TIGERING UNIT
For the processing of high pile fabrics, such as acrylic blankets, acrylic furs and so on, it is available a Tigering unit, composed of a metallic brush in strong wire, to comb and open the fibre and prepare it for Polishing and Shearing operation.

POLISHING ROLLER
The Polishing roller is provided with helical grooves for an higher efficiency; in the versions for wool the helical grooves
are knurled, in the ones for synthetic furs the helical grooves are plain.

The Polishing roller is heated by electric resistors,controlled by temperature detectors,in order to keep a precisely constant temperature on all the width of the roller. The temperature is adjustable by control panel.

WAXING UNIT
The waxing unit is supplied in those machines to process wool fabrics and it is used to apply on the fabric, the chemical
product to obtain the shining effect. The waxing unit is equipped with a waxing roller,which collects the chemical from the tank, and a waxing brush,which takes the chemical from the waxing
roller and applies it on to the fabric. The quantity of chemical product to be applied on the fabric, can be adjusted by control panel.

TIGERING UNIT
For the processing of high pile fabrics, the tigering device is making a pile opening and combing action,in order to improve the polishing effect and obtain a better finishing. The tigering unit is equipped with metallic brush cleaning system.

SHEARING UNIT
In order to equalise the pile height after the polishing process, it is possible to have a shearing unit;available either as a separate machine in line or as a unit included in the combined Polish-Shear.

Each sueding unit is composed by a sueding roller,with fabric approaching roller and dust suction box.
For each sueding unit it is possible to set independently:

• Rotating speed and sense of rotation of the sueding roller. By AC motor with inverter
• Contact of the fabric with the sueding roller. Through servomotor,controlled by the control panel.

These parameters are completely controlled through the Touch Screen placed on the control panel and can be stored in the memory of the PLC, to be recalled at a later time.
By changing the fabric passage it is possible to process the fabric with the two following modes:

• Processing of one face of the fabric (8 sueding units for the same face).
• Processing both faces of the fabric (4 sueding units for the face, 4 sueding units for the reverse).

The use of 8 sueding units,with high power motors,allows to have a very high production and a very powerful processing, but at the same time it permits to perform a very gradual processing, which
suits perfectly to the most delicate fabrics. A special electronic sensor is detecting the seams on the fabric.When a seam is passing by each sueding roller,this roller is immediately stopped and started again as soon as the seam is passed.

The Menzel Sueding Machine offers complete control of the fabric during the sueding process. A set of “Tejax” handwheels individually adjust the tension rollers between sueding rolls and incorporate dial indicators for accurate position readings. And with the Menzel Sueding Machine, a large angle of contact between the fabric and sueding roll is rarely necessary.

Textile Sueding Machinery photo sueding machinesCurtin-Hebert Company developed the first single roll sueding machine to suede leather in the early 1900’s. In 1938, we built a single roll sueder for a local textile company to sand or suede tricot fabrics.

Our 380 series sueding machine sold over 500 units before the 710 series sueding machine was designed and built in 1971. This sueding machine was much more versatile than its predecessor.

The 710 sanding and sueding machine can be used to process knits, wovens and non wovens of all natural and synthetic fibers. Suede processing is possible on denim, outrerwear, swimwear, sportswear, lingerie, automotive fabrics and home furnishings, to name a few applications.

The 880 series sueding and sanding machine is the 50-year anniversary model of the 380 series. The 880 series machine incorporates all the options that are built into the 710 series, as well as digital readouts for cylinder RPM, feed speed and yardage indicator, AMP load meter and water temperature indicator, etc.

The 880 series sueding and sanding machine incorporates everything that 50 years in the textile sueding business has taught us.

Versatility in small spaces.

The new DB 24/6 is mainly applied in the fi eld of fl at fabrics, denim, shirts, wool blends and similar.
Various versions of this machine are available, due to the variability of the lower and/or upper drum cover. The lower drum can be equipped with six silicon carbide brushes or six ceramic material brushes.
Ceramic application allows more advantages in processing: ceramic brushes are subject to reduced wear (the average duration is 3 million mt of fabric), they do not require initial run-in and offer constant and repetitive performances. The upper drum can be equipped with 2 types of cylinders, thus achieving sueding or raising. As for emery, cylinders are covered in emery paper on polyester, which enables an average duration ten times longer than common emery paper (about 400.000 mt of fabric). Space saving is remarkable, as actually two complete machines are superimposed, thus occupying the space of one machine. An important versatile aspect of DB 24/6 is the opportunity, in the event of small production batches, of selecting and using only one drum. The machine width ranges from 1800 and 2600.
