Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Pesero (state owned company) hold into contract agreement on electric power sales and purchase of firm capacity, dated December 30, 1996, the first party contract No. 012 / DIR / BSS / XII / 1996 and the second party contract No. 064. Pj / 40J / 1996 / M. Wahana enters into a sale of electricity, under energy sales. Based on initial resources analysis, it is anticipated that a geothermal reservoir capable of supporting 92 MW (megawatts) of electrical power is present in this area (West Java) . Some additional exploration and drilling is required to verify this potential.
The geothermal system itself is mostly concentrated on caldera structures or flanks of inactive volcano. The reservoir rock as we expected is either from volcanic deposit, lavas or the underlying older sedimentary formation. Now days, to overcome the energy crisis in Indonesia, WAHANA and the Candidate Partner will implement the pending contract with PLN; WAHANA and the Candidate Partner will do integrated effort from the exploration and geothermal production until electricity power in Tangkupan Perahu geothermal area, West Java. The produced electricity power will sell to PT. Pln as stated in energy sales contract.
