440E Series: Incorporating the rugged durability, styling, versatility, and performance of the 660E belt loader, Stewart and Stevenson TUG developed the 440E belt oader to fullfill the need for a smaller belt loader. Like the 660E, the 440E is tailored for today’s environmentally conscious users by eliminating the emissions associated with traditional internal combustion engines.
A single cylinder elevates the centrally mounted 16-foot conveyor. The unit comes
standard with one set of electric belt controls at each end of the conveyor and located on the left side of the conveyor. One of three belt speeds are attained by pressing the belt direction control button until the desired speed is achieved. An adjustable baggage rail is standard on the left side of the conveyor and a shortened (to clear the engine on the regional jet) collapsible safety handrail is provided on the right side of the conveyor.
The 10-inch TUG Tuff tire and wheel keep the profile of this belt loader low and the
power steering makes low speed maneuvering smooth and easy. The electric controls for the belt loader are centralized in a water resistant lockable control box
located behind the battery compartment. Overall, this belt loader, designed to be
neat and clean in appearance, offers the operator and technician simple and easily
accessible controls and components.
